Portland-based quartet Kate & The Crocodiles perform indie rock originals and covers, early jazz and jazz standards, reinventions of ’70s and ’80s rock as ballads, classical art songs mixed with rock and other surprises from far and wide. Lead singer Kate Morrison has deep ties to Walla Walla. Proceeds from this concert benefit The Health Center.

A cast of international singers – both familiar and making Royal Opera debuts – under conductor Hartmut Haenchen perform the glorious arias and ensembles of this opera favorite.
Bluewood Alpine Race Team (BART) will host a screening of Warren Miller's Timeless, the 70th annual ski and snowboard film by Warren Miller Entertainment, at Gesa Power House Theatre on Friday, November 8. Door open at 5:00 p.m. for a prefunk party (food truck, silent auction); The film screening begins at 7:30 p.m.
A new quarterly series of short film screenings will launch on Saturday, November 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Gesa Power House Theatre. "Veterans Affairs: A Movie Crush Varietal" will feature 90 minutes of short film programming in honor of Veteran's Day, plus discussion and a Q&A with Movie Crush Executive Director Warren Etheredge.

Land Title of Walla Walla County and The Walla Walla Symphony present a special "Symphony on the Edge" concert by pianist Simone Dinnerstein, with two performances on Saturday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 17 at 3:00 p.m. American pianist Simone Dinnerstein is known for her “majestic originality of vision” (the Independent) and her “lean, knowing and unpretentious elegance” (the New Yorker).
Created by and starring Rafael Peral and Marisa Adame, "Raíz de 4" was born out of the admiration and esteem for Flamenco by delving into its most primitive roots, those very origins which evoke the convergence of cultures and the folklore of Spain. The purest styles of flamenco, some of which are: romances (ballads), martinetes, fandangos and soleares are brought into the forefront in a performance made up of a cast of distinguished artists.
Royal Opera favorite Bryn Terfel heads the cast for this new production of Donizetti’s comedy of domestic drama across two generations. The witty story of a middle-aged man whose supposed young wife runs rings around him – with her own ulterior romantic purpose in mind – has long delighted and surprised audiences, not least as presented with the sparkle of its music and the virtuoso skill of its performers. Damiano Michieletto’s exhilarating production shows how contemporary the characters still are and how immediate and touching the story remains.

King Leontes appears to have everything: power, wealth, a loving family and friends. But sexual jealousy sets in motion a chain of events with tragic consequences. Shakespeare's timeless tragicomedy of obsession and redemption was reimagined in a production co-directed by Rob Ashford and Kenneth Branagh. The production featured a remarkable group of actors, including Judi Dench as Paulina and Kenneth Branagh as Leontes, alongside Tom Bateman (Florizel), Jessie Buckley (Perdita), Hadley Fraser (Polixenes), and Miranda Raison (Hermione).

Ireland's foremost Celtic classical trio Affinití returns to Gesa Power House Theatre for their annual Christmas show that is well-loved by the community and sells out every year. It is Christmas Eve and Herr Drosselmeyer the magician sweeps young Clara away on a fantasy adventure in which time is suspended, the family living-room becomes a great battlefield, and a magical journey takes them through the Land of Snow to the Kingdom of Sweets. Tchaikovsky's glittering score, the gorgeous festive stage designs, and The Royal Ballet's captivating dancing including an exquisite pas de deux between the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Prince, make this Nutcracker a quintessential Christmas experience.

Monologuist and humorist James Judd, headliner of NPR‘s "Snap Judgment," has often been compared to David Sedaris and Oscar Wilde. Judd connects with audiences as he shares stories classified as “spectacular public embarrassments and utter failures.” However humiliating, they affirm that part of being human is telling the stories that have happened to us, emphasizing that even in the face of failure, it’s getting up and moving forward that matters.
The Live Cinema Series continues at Gesa Power House Theatre with a screening of The Royal Ballet's current production of Coppélia on Wednesday, February 18 at 6:00 p.m. A classic returns to The Royal Ballet repertory with Ninette de Valois’ charming and funny Coppélia – a story of love, mischief and mechanical dolls. The intricate choreography is set to Delibes’ delightful score and shows off the technical precision and comedic timing of the whole Company. Osbert Lancaster’s designs bring a colorful storybook world to life in this visual treat for the whole family.

This production of The Sleeping Beauty has been delighting audiences in Covent Garden since 1946. A classic of Russian ballet, it established The Royal Ballet both in its new home after World War II and as a world-class company. Sixty years later, in 2006, the original staging was revived, returning Oliver Messel’s wonderful designs and glittering costumes to the stage. Pyotr Il’yich Tchaikovsky’s enchanting score and Marius Petipa’s original choreography beautifully combine with sections created for The Royal Ballet by Frederick Ashton, Anthony Dowell and Christopher Wheeldon. This ballet is sure to cast its spell over anyone who sees it.

The Walla Walla Movie Crush presents "Between and Behind Bars: A Movie Crush Varietal" at Gesa Power House Theatre on Saturday, March 28 at 7:00 p.m. Join us for an evening of harmony and discord: two blocks of short films, focused first on music and its healing powers, followed by an examination of incarceration and its lasting impacts. Each hour-long block will contain short films in a variety of genres: narratives, documentaries, animation, and music videos, forming a visual mixtape for all tastes and temperaments
Puccini’s opera of young love in 19th-century Paris is packed with beautiful music, including lyrical arias, celebratory choruses for Act II’s evocation of Christmas Eve in the Latin Quarter and a poignant final scene over which the composer himself wept. Richard Jones’s character-led production perfectly captures La bohème’s mixture of comedy, romance and tragedy, with striking designs by Stewart Laing. The cast features some of the greatest interpreters of Puccini’s bohemian lovers performing today, as well as former members of The Royal Opera’s Jette Parker Young Artists Programme.

Dances at a Gathering is the first revival of Jerome Robbins’s elegant and elegiac exercise in pure dance for five couples. Set to music by Chopin, it is a masterpiece of subtlety and invention.
