Rude Mechanicals "Macbeth"

Press Release: Rude Mechanicals bring “Macbeth” to Walla Walla – Nov. 11

The Rude Mechanicals will perform their current live theater production of “Macbeth” at Gesa Power House Theatre on Saturday, November 11 at 7:00 p.m.
“Macbeth” is William Shakespeare’s shortest tragedy, thought to have been first performed in 1606. On a barren heath, three sisters tell the great and bloodied Macbeth that he is fated to be King of Scotland. A terrifying series of events that lead to the murder of Kings, friends, mothers and their children. Macbeth and his Lady fall prey to a soul-corroding guilt as they desperately try and cling to the defiled crown.
Reserved seating tickets ($25-$20 Adults, $15 Students) are available online or by calling the box office at 509-529-6500.
Suitability suggestions: This story of war and horrific choices resulting in tragic consequences may be most enjoyed by audience members ages 13 and up. This production will include stage violence and intense dramatic moments that may be overwhelming for younger audience members.
About the performers: The Rude Mechanicals is a theater company in southeastern Washington state, dedicated to the production of Shakespeare and Shakespeare-inspired plays. The Rude Mechanicals’ production of “Macbeth” also plays October 26, 27, 28 and November 2, 3, and 4 at The Uptown Theatre in Richland, WA.

About the Gesa Power House Theatre

The historic Gesa Power House Theatre is a 300-seat performing arts venue, located in downtown Walla Walla. The 120-year-old building was once the Walla Walla Gas Plant, built to produce coal gas used to light the streets, businesses, and homes of Walla Walla. In 2011 the Gesa Power House Theatre building was transformed into a state-of-the-art playhouse for live performance. The interior design of the theatre was inspired by Shakespeare’s own intimate Blackfriars Theatre in London, England.

The Gesa Power House Theatre is on the Washington State Building Preservation Commission list of State historic buildings and on the National Register of Historic Places. The venue also hosts a variety of other cultural events, musical concerts, and private events (including weddings).
