Power House Movie: East of the Mountains (independent drama) October 2, 2021 @ 7:00 pm $10 – $15

Gesa Power House Theatre presents a Power House Movie screening of the 2021 independent film East of the Mountains on Saturday, October 2 at 7:00 p.m. The screening will be followed by an in-person conversation between the film’s director, SJ Chiro, and Gesa Power House Theatre Director of Film Programming Warren Etheredge.

From the author of Snow Falling on Cedars

Ben Givens (Tom Skerritt) is a retired heart surgeon and recent widower who learns he has terminal cancer. Determined to navigate his final days on his own terms, he shares the news with no one—not even his daughter (Mira Sorvino)—instead traveling back to his boyhood home in Eastern Washington with only his dog in tow. But the journey does not go as planned; the familiar landscape triggers memories and a connection with a kind stranger (Annie Gonzalez) inspires new insight. Based on David Guterson’s best-selling novel and unfolding against the scenic vistas of the Columbia Basin, this compelling character study offers a long-overdue showcase for one of cinema’s greatest treasures.

General admission tickets ($15 adults, $10 students) are available online or by calling the box office at 509-529-6500.
