Live Cinema Series: “As You Like It” – Royal Shakespeare Co. May 8, 2019 @ 6:00 pm $10 – $15

Come into the forest; dare to change your state of mind.

The 2019 Live Cinema Series continues at Gesa Power House Theatre with a screening of the current Royal Shakespeare Company production of As You Like It on Wednesday, May 8 at 6:00 p.m. This production is filmed live in Stratford-upon-Avon and rebroadcast internationally to select screens.

Rosalind is banished, wrestling with her heart and her head. With her cousin by her side, she journeys to a world of exile where barriers are broken down and all can discover their deeper selves. Director Kimberley Sykes (Dido, Queen of Carthage) directs a riotous, exhilarating version of Shakespeare’s romantic comedy.

As You Like It subverts the traditional rules of romance. Gender roles, nature and politics are confused in a play that reflects on how bewildering yet utterly pleasurable life can be.

Filmed during a live event, the Live Cinema Series broadcasts offer audiences an equivalent to the best seat in the house, with incredibly detailed close-ups of the performers.

This screening runs approximately 3 hours including an onscreen introduction and one intermission.

Beer, wine, popcorn, and snacks will be available for purchase, and may be taken into the theater. No outside food or beverages allowed.

Reserved seating tickets ($15 Adults, $10 Students) will go on sale to the public on Monday, April 1, online or by calling the box office at 509-529-6500. For group ticket sales, please call 509-876-1662. Let your friends know about this event and invite them on Facebook.
