His other critically acclaimed specials include Human Mule\, Freaked Out and Tom Papa Live in New York City\, two of which were directed by Rob Zombie. \nTom recently released his second book\, You’re Doing Great! – And Other Reasons To Stay Alive\, a follow-up to\, Your Dad Stole My Rake: And Other Family Dilemmas\, both released by St Martin’s Press\, making “Summer Must Read” lists from Parade Magazine to The New York Post. Tom is also a contributing writer to New Yorker Magazine. \nTom’s podcast\, Breaking Bread with Tom Papa\, features Tom and his guest for an hour of eating\, drinking\, and enjoying life. Tom is host of the daily Netflix radio show\, What A Joke With Papa And Fortune\, on SiriusXM’s Netflix Channel\, airing Mondays through Thursdays from 10:00 AM – Noon ET. \nTom hosts the hit SiriusXM show\, Come to Papa\, a weekly\, hour-long show featuring Tom exploring the funny side of life.  Several times a year in New York and Los Angeles\, Tom hosts a live Come To Papa scripted radio play that is recorded live for the podcast and SiriusXM show. \nTom was a regular performer on the nationally syndicated radio show\, Live From Here (formerly A Prairie Home Companion) that featured his own regular segment\, “Out. DESCRIPTION:Gesa Power House Theatre will present a screening of the independent film Potato Dreams of America on Wednesday\, September 28\, at 7:00PM. \nWes Hurley’s autobiographical dark comedy is about a young boy growing up in the collapsing USSR\, his courageous mail-order bride mother\, and their adventurous escape to Seattle in the 90s. Full of unexpected twists\, this film is an immigrant’s take on the American Dream and the power of cinema\, proving that life is often stranger than fiction. \n \nThe Cast: \n\nLea DeLaria\nDan Lauria\nJonathan Bennett\nRizo\nSophia Mitri Schloss\nSera Barbieri\nMarya Sea Kaminski\nTyler Bocock\nHersh Powers\n\nDirector Wes Hurley is Russian-born and raised\, now based in Seattle. He has made two feature films\, dozens of shorts\, and two seasons of critically acclaimed comedy series Capitol Hill. Hurley is a recipient of Creative Capitol Award\, Seattle Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture Award\, Advocate Magazine’s Person to Watch\, and City Arts Magazine’s Artist of the Year. His autobiographical doc Little Potato (co-directed with Nathan Miller) won dozens of awards\, including the Oscar-qualifying Jury Prize at SXSW.
