SUMMARY:Pigs on the Wing - Pink Floyd "Animals" Tribute
DESCRIPTION:Pink Floyd tribute band Pigs on the Wing returns to Gesa Power House Theatre with a new concert experience on Friday\, October 11 at 7:00 p.m. \nThe new Pigs on the Wing concert will feature a full performance of Pink Floyd’s 1977 album Animals and a second full set highlighting Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters-era catalog. \n \nTracing its roots to a one-off performance in Portland in 2006\, Pigs on the Wing has steadily developed a reputation for delivering a high quality\, high energy take on Pink Floyd’s music steeped in the Northwest’s own rich musical heritage. All of the members of the band are seasoned veterans of the original rock scene and balance a decidedly un-tribute like attitude towards the music with a deep understanding of the precision and importance of Pink Floyd’s music in many fans’ lives. The result is a sound and experience both refreshing in delivery and yet true to the original – something the band believes sets it apart from other Pink Floyd tributes. \nPigs on the Wing has long considered Animals to be their defining experience of Floyd (not to mention the band’s namesake) – and perhaps the album best suited to their own high energy take on Floyd’s catalog. Animals is Pink Floyd at their heaviest and most epic\, weaving complex progressive rock arrangements into a single conceptual vision unlike anything the band had done before. Fans can expect Pigs on the Wing to deliver a precise\, hard-hitting\, true-to-the-music performance of the classic 1977 Animals album melded seamlessly with Pigs on the Wing’s trademark willingness to explore the improvisational side of Pink Floyd’s music – and to let their own musical strengths guide the journey. In the spirit of Pink Floyd\, Pigs on the Wing’s “Animals 2019” tour features an immersive visual dimension including a spectacular redesigned light show and live projection mapping for a concert experience unlike any other. \n \nPigs on the Wing is (from L to R): Eric Welder (bass\, vocals); Pete Galluzzo (sax); Bryan Fairfield (drums); Holly Brooks (vocals); David Lindenbaum (guitar\, vocals); Matt Jones (keys\, vocals); and Jason Baker (guitar\, vocals). \nReserved seating tickets ($28 Adults; $25 Students) are available online or by calling the box office at 509-529-6500. Invite your friends and let them know you are going on Facebook. \n\nAre you visiting from out of town? \n\nBook your hotel stay between October 11 and 13 and use this link to secure a special group rate of $119/night at Courtyard Marriott (expires Friday\, October 4).

SUMMARY:Che Apalache - Latin Bluegrass
DESCRIPTION:Gesa Power House Theatre presents Che Apalache in concert on Friday\, October 18 at 7:00 p.m. \n \n“This blend of Appalachian and Latin music took me completely off guard and won me over instantly\, This is a band to watch!”\n– Béla Fleck \nChe Apalache is a four-man string band led by Joe Troop\, which features three powerhouse Latin American musicians – two from Argentina\, Franco Martino (guitar)\, Martin Bobrik (mandolin)\, and Pau Barjau (banjo) from Mexico. The band has been taking audiences by storm with their fusion of Latin and American roots music. Famed banjo player and cross-genre trailblazer Béla Fleck was so taken with the band that he produced their new album\, Rearrange My Heart\, on Free Dirt Records. \n“I love to work with music that intrigues\, excites and inspires me\,” Fleck explains\, “and that describes Che Apalache to a T!” \nChe Apalache began as a traditional bluegrass band\, but eventually incorporated Latin American styles into their repertoire. Combining instrumental prowess with tight vocal harmonies\, they have created an authentic blend of genres to reflect the nature of their lives. Evoking images from Appalachia to the Andes\, their debut album\, Latingrass\, is a testament to a powerful cultural and musical exchange. \nIn 2017 the band received grants from the North Carolina Humanities Council and the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities to tour the United States. Everywhere they went on their five-week ramble\, they were met with enthusiasm and praise. At the prestigious Appalachian String Band Music Festival in Clifftop\, WV they were awarded first place in the Neo-Traditional band competition. Che Apalache was featured on NPR’s “All Things Considered” in 2018. \nReserved seating tickets ($35-$30 Adults; $20 Students) are available online or by calling the box office at 509-529-6500. SUMMARY:The Talbott Brothers
DESCRIPTION:Folk singer-songwriting duo The Talbott Brothers will be in concert at Gesa Power House Theatre on Friday\, October 25 at 7:00 p.m. \nBlood is thicker than water and there’s nothing like family creating music together to prove it. With contrasting blood-harmonies and left-handed/right-handed guitar playing\, singer-songwriter duo The Talbott Brothers combine rock\, blues and pop with honest storytelling. \n \n“The Talbott Brothers captivate with haunting brotherly harmonies.”\n— Billboard \n \nFollowing the release of 2017’s GRAY\, they found themselves in front of sold out crowds all around the US. Ear to the Ground Music dubbed the record as one of the ‘Top 5 Albums of the Year’ stating it as\, “equal parts optimistic and captivating\, inspiring and hopeful.” Through rigorous touring and over half a million streams on Spotify\, they continue to build a strong and loyal fanbase wherever they go. \n“The Talbott Brothers make cinematic folk-rock for open highways\, widescreen skies\, and the limitless reach of the American heartland.”\n— Rolling Stone \nListen to the Talbott Brothers \nNick and Tyler were born and raised in Imperial\, a small town in Southwestern Nebraska\, just a stone’s throw from the Colorado border. They began writing and performing together before relocating to their mother’s birthplace of Portland\, Oregon. Tyler\, the youngest (lead vocals\, baritone guitar\, harmonica) and Nick\, the oldest (backing vocals\, lead guitar) discovered their love of music after digging their dad’s old dreadnought guitar out of the basement and teaching themselves to play along to Johnny Cash\, Bob Seger and the Beatles on vinyl. \nReserved seating tickets ($28) are available online or by calling the Gesa Power House Theatre box office at 509-529-6500.
