SUMMARY:Live Cinema Series: "Romeo and Juliet" - Royal Ballet
DESCRIPTION:The 2019 Live Cinema Series continues at Gesa Power House Theatre with a screening of Romeo and Juliet by The Royal Ballet on Wednesday\, July 10 at 6:00 p.m. This production is filmed live in London and rebroadcast internationally to select screens. \n \nShakespeare’s enduring love story is known the world over. Since its 1965 premiere with The Royal Ballet\, Kenneth MacMillan’s Romeo and Juliet has become a modern ballet classic. Sergey Prokofiev’s iconic score and MacMillan’s choreography capture the emotions of the young couple as they fall in love\, despite the barriers that finally bring about the story’s tragic end. Each revival gives opportunities for new dancers to interpret the doomed lovers. The whole Company brings the colour and action of Renaissance Verona\, where a busy market all too quickly bursts into sword fighting\, and a family feud leads to tragedy for both the Montagues and Capulets. \nThe cast of this production includes Yasmine Naghdi as Juliet and Matthew Ball as Romeo. \nFilmed during a live event\, the Live Cinema Series broadcasts offer audiences an equivalent to the best seat in the house\, with incredibly detailed close-ups of the performers. \nThis program has an approximate runtime of 3 hours\, including two intermissions. Beer\, wine\, popcorn\, and snacks will be available for purchase\, and may be taken into the theater. \nReserved seating tickets ($15 Adults\, $10 Students) are available online or by calling the box office at 509-529-6500. For group ticket sales\, please call 509-876-1662. \nLet your friends know about this event and invite them on Facebook. \n# # # \nWant to receive early notice and access to ticket sales? Become a Gesa Power House Theatre Member (highest priority) or sign up for our e-mail list! \n\nThe 2019 Live Cinema Series is sponsored by Shakespeare Walla Walla\, a local 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that aims to make Shakespeare and theater approachable and entertaining to students in eastern Washington and Oregon.  \n \n\nAre you visiting from out of town? \n\nsave 20% when you mention the “Power House Theatre” promotion or use this link to place your reservation at Courtyard Marriott

When she isn’t collecting hotel soaps while on tour or panel-ing on NPR’s #1 show\, Wait\, Wait…Don’t Tell Me!\, Paula hosts the popular Maximum Fun podcast\, Nobody Listens to Paula Poundstone – a comedy field guide to life complete with taste tests\, cats of the week\, and leading experts in everything from beekeeping to ping pong to prosopagnosia (say that three times fast). \nPaula’s stand-up credentials are endless: Cats\, Cops and Stuff; Paula Poundstone Goes to Harvard; Look What the Cat Dragged In; and numerous television appearances including The Late Show with Stephen Colbert\, Last Call with Carson Daly and Late Show with David Letterman. The book was recognized as one of eight semi-finalists for the Thurber Prize for American Humor\, the highest recognition of the art of humor writing in the United States. \nPaula can be heard on the big screen as “Forgetter Paula” in Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out\, winner of the 2017 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film.
