DESCRIPTION:The Rémi Bolduc Jazz Ensemble will perform a “Tribute to Dave Brubeck” concert at Gesa Power House Theatre on Saturday\, January 14 at 7:00 p.m. \nFew American jazz artists have had as much influence or were as popular as Dave Brubeck was in the 1950s. In this tribute concert\, the Rémi Bolduc Jazz Ensemble perform music of Brubeck’s celebrated band. The program includes “Take Five”\, “Blue Rondo a la Turk”\, and several other compositions from the album Time Out – one of the most famous and best-selling albums in the history of jazz\, even to this day. \n \nRémi Bolduc is one of Canada’s best jazz saxophonists\, playing with intensity and breathtaking precision. He captivates audiences in venues from New York to Paris to Tokyo with dazzling virtousity\, magnetic stage presence\, and mature spontaneity. \nRémi Bolduc performs regularly with renowned jazz musicians such as Kenny Werner\, Ben Monder\, Seamus Blake\, Lorraine Desmarais\, Vic Vogel\, Thom Gossage\, Ralph Bowen\, Jerry Bergonzi and others. DESCRIPTION:The Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival’s Winter Festival Series concert will be performed at Gesa Power House Theatre on Sunday\, January 15 at 7:00 p.m. \nYou’ve met the artists in pianist\, Thomas Rosenkranz\, and The Westerlies. You’ve explored the music in Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio in D minor\, Op. 11\, and original compositions by the Westerlies. Now it’s time to bring it all together with a collaboration that ties all the seemingly disparate sources into one original piece of music. \nWith the Gloria of Stravinsky’s Mass as inspiration\, Andy Clausen of The Westerlies has arranged a new piece to be premiered by the combined forces of all of the Winter Festival Artists. The new work is a fitting way to welcome Stravinsky to this season’s poster. Also featured on the performance is the Mendelssohn D minor Piano Trio\, and selections by The Westerlies. \nFelix Mendelssohn (1809-1847) \nPIANO TRIO IN D MINOR\, OP. 11 \nI.
