Twenty-five years later\, composer Bill Whelan has rerecorded his mesmerizing soundtrack while producer Moya Doherty and director John McColgan have completely reimagined the ground-breaking show with innovative and spectacular lighting\, projection\, stage and costume designs. This powerful and stirring reinvention of the beloved family favorite is celebrated the world over for its Grammy Award-winning music and the thrilling energy of its Irish and international dance. Filmed live in 2020 at the 3Arena Dublin\, the exact spot where it all began\, the 25th Anniversary Gala Performance brought Riverdance to the big screen for the very first time\, and we are pleased to be able to offer an encore screening of this event. \nFilmed during a live event\, the Live Cinema Series broadcasts offer audiences an equivalent to the best seat in the house\, with incredibly detailed close-ups of the performers. They pursued other individual musical endeavors\, including joining jazz groups and local bands\, while all working as music teachers.\n\nIn 2018\, We Three was invited to compete on America’s Got Talent\, where they performed an original song\, “Heaven’s Not Too Far”\, a tribute to their late mother. The song made a big impression on judges Simon Cowell and Mel B\, as well as connecting with fans across the US and beyond. Their audition was viewed over 114 million views on Facebook and currently the song has generated nearly 12 million streams on Spotify.\n\nWe Three released their self-titled debut album in 2018\, which has been streamed over 29 million times on Spotify\, followed by their EP We’re All Messed up – but It’s Ok in 2019. In 2020\, the group returned with their second full-length album Dear PARANOIA\, Sincerely\, Me\, which showcases their radically evolved sound. Unable to launch directly into the storm\, the coxswain of the Louisa lifeboat\, decided to haul the lifeboat 13 miles overland to a more sheltered bay in order to rescue a sailing ship. This real life story is dramatically told in Louisa: An Amazing Adventure\, and explores the true courage\, determination\, and extraordinary spirit of ordinary people trying to save the lives of strangers in need. The animation style resembled that of an oil painting brought to life and the adventure is narrated by the coxswain’s daughter\, May\, voiced by acclaimed actor Celia Imrie (Best Exotic Marigold Hotel). \nLouisa: An Amazing Adventure is currently touring festivals and recently won Best Animation Feature at the Moscow International Children’s Film Festival. \nThis Little Watts Family Movie is recommended for ages 8 and up and has a runtime of about an hour. \nGeneral admission tickets ($12 adults\, $8 Youth 12 and under) are available online or by calling the box office at 509-529-6500. Gesa Power House Theatre presents a special “Best of the 2020 Walla Walla Movie Crush” screening event on Saturday\, May 22. \n \nJust like the annual 3-day festival in July\, screenings will be arranged in one-hour thematic segments of short films as follows: \nBlock #1 (1PM-5PM): \n1PM: AFTER-ACTION REVIEW\npresented by Micki & Bryce Breitenstein \nPoliticians provide reasons for going to war\, historians discuss the geo-political impacts. Too few\, however\, are concerned or charged with evaluating what happens to the women and men who serve and to those who survive war. Here\, American veterans from multiple conflicts and Korean children recall what happened\, question why it did and wonder how to move forward healthfully. \n2PM: MORAL ACCOUNTING \nUltimately\, we may or may not be judged by a higher power\, but while we are alive\, it’s up to each of us to hold ourselves and others accountable\, spiritually as much as legally. Here\, war crimes\, acts of censorship\, xenophobic policies and climate crises are addressed by individuals eager to balance the books and pull us out of the moral red. \n3PM: PHONING IT IN \nWe all have our hang-ups\, but our attachment to our smartphones may be moving from habit to addiction.
