DESCRIPTION:Common Tone Arts presents a concert by flamenco guitarist Gustavo Alonso López at Gesa Power House Theatre on Sunday\, October 15 at 7 p.m. \nGustavo Alonso López is a North-American flamenco guitarist and new Walla Walla resident. His music is grounded in traditional Spanish flamenco\, and incorporates elements of jazz\, classical\, and world music. This performance will present a selection of classic flamenco repertoire and original works. \nLópez has two full-length studio recordings\, Punto Lejano and Espasón\, the latter was released in the summer of 2023. His work as a musician and composer earned him a Fulbright fellowship in 2017 and a composition fellowship from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation of New Mexico for the summer of 2024. \nCommon Tone Arts is a visionary organization that can provide the vehicle for introspection\, conversation\, and transcendence. In music\, a Common Tone is used to help connect one distantly related chord or key to another. We believe that art is the bridge that can connect distantly related people and cultures together — that can bring us together in our shared aspirations\, illuminate the human experience\, and transcend our limitations. \nReserved seating tickets ($25 for adults\, $20 for seniors\, $10 for students) are available online or by calling the box office at 509-529-6500. \nThis event is a rental by Common Tone Arts.
