DESCRIPTION:Walla Walla Summer Theater\, in partnership with Gesa Power House Theatre\, presents a vocal master class by acclaimed opera and rock crossover artist Alexander Kariotis on Friday\, April 12 at 6 p.m. This programming is supported in part by the Western States Arts Federation (WESTAF) and the National Endowment for the Arts. \nThis master class will cover the application of classical vocal techniques to contemporary rock\, pop\, and musical theater vocal styles. Participants have the option to volunteer and work with Alexander during the class or simply observe. Registrants will also have the opportunity to purchase tickets to Alexander’s solo show on Saturday\, April 13\, which will be held at the Gesa Power House Theatre. DESCRIPTION:Gesa Power House Theatre is proud to present a rock opera concert by Alexander Kariotis on Saturday\, April 13 at 7 p.m. This programming is supported in part by the Western States Arts Federation (WESTAF) and the National Endowment for the Arts. \nWeaving timeless operatic arias amid soaring rock melodies\, with a powerhouse rock rhythm section\, with strings\, woodwinds\, brass and backing vocals\, Alexander’s music leaves listeners exhilarated and breathless.  \nClassically trained in opera\, Alexander has studied with vocal masters\, from Arrigo Pola (the late Luciano Pavarotti’s voice teacher)\, Gianni Raimondi (La Scala\, Italy)\, as well as Dan Marek\, John Wustman and Nico Castel (Metropolitan Opera). \nAlexander is a full scholarship graduate of the Mannes School of Music in New York City (B.M.)\, and Northwestern University (M.M.).
