Moore takes us back through her recollections and perspectives leading up to the moment where she attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford\, and an eerie sense of déjà vu takes hold as the tightrope of tension—between the ideals of the US and the realities we are living through—becomes a stranglehold.

By nightfall\, Liat and Aviv are captives in Gaza along with 250 other people – 12 of whom\, like Liat\, are American citizens.\nCaught between international diplomacy and a rapidly escalating war\, their family must face their own uncertainty and conflicting perspectives in the pursuit of Liat and Aviv’s release. This agonizing process\, and the ultimate fate of their loved ones\, challenges how the members of the family understand themselves and their place in the conflict.\nThrough the intimate lens of a family’s experience\, HOLDING LIAT poses complex questions of identity across generations\, as the family is thrust into the epicenter of a global conflict rapidly unfolding in real-time.

It is a love letter to education. The former Secretary of Labor might be famous for his public service\, best – selling books\, and viral social media posts\, but he always considered teaching his true calling. Now\, after over 40 years and an extraordinary 40\,000 students\, Reich is preparing for his last class. \nOver the course of the film\, Reich confronts the impending finality\, and his own aging\, with increasing candor\, introspection\, and\, ultimately\, emotion. He displays a rawness of feeling he has never shared publicly before. DESCRIPTION:Gesa Power House Theatre proudly presents CHECKPOINT ZOO on Wednesday\, October 29\, 2025\, at 7PM. \nCheckpoint Zoo documents a daring rescue led by a heroic team of zookeepers and volunteers who risked their lives to save thousands of animals trapped in a zoo behind enemy lines during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.\n\nOn February 24\, 2022\, Russia invaded Ukraine\, starting the worst war Europe has seen in over 50 years. In the early days of the invasion\, some of the fiercest fighting was on the outskirts of Kharkiv\, Ukraine’s second – largest city. On one side was the advancing Russian Army\, on the other side the\ndefending Ukrainian Army. And in between them was a zoo… called Feldman Ecopark. \nMore than just a sanctuary for animals\, Feldman Ecopark offered countless community programs from animal therapy to charity events for children with special needs. It was a cultural center for Kharkiv’s 1.4 million citizens\, unfortunately positioned less than 30 kilometers from the Russian border. When the invasion started\, Kharkiv turned into a battleground\, and the staff was forced to flee Ecopark\, leaving 5\,000 animals trapped in between the Russian and Ukrainian frontlines. Both sides were firing on each other\, and everything that fell short landed in Feldman Ecopark. But that wasn’t enough to stop several brave zookeepers from venturing back into the park time and time again to continue caring for the surviving animals. When two zookeepers were killed\, four\nvolunteers appeared on Feldman’s doorstep\, ready to help in any way they could. \nAs the war continued\, and the shelling increased\, it was clear that even the incredible bravery of the zoo staff wouldn’t be enough to save the animals. The zoo’s founder\, Oleksandr Feldman\, posted a desperate plea to social media asking for help. Miraculously\, the post went viral\, and zoos from across Ukraine and all of Europe volunteered to house the remaining animals. \nEncouraged by the response\, the zoo staff and these volunteers resolved to do the impossible – they would sneak back into Feldman Ecopark and evacuate thousands of animals\, including many dangerous predators\, and bring them to safety. In doing so\, they put themselves in incredible danger\, risking their lives to save innocent animals. \nWorking from footage captured by the zookeepers\, volunteers\, news media\, and himself on his own trip to Ukraine\, filmmaker Joshua Zeman tells the moving\, suspenseful\, and powerful story of these real – life heroes. The film details the initial attack\, the efforts to continue tending to the trapped animals\, the hair – raising evacuation\, and tragically\, the price these volunteers paid to do the right thing. \nThe zookeepers and volunteers of Checkpoint Zoo show us the absolute best of humanity at a time when it is all too easy to focus on the worst. From farmers and ranchers to hikers and hunters\, we all have a role to play.\n\nFor nearly 175 years\, the Southwestern United States has seen civilizations rise and fall\, leaving behind landscapes stripped by time and industry. Tasked with delivering a huge and heavy suitcase across town\, destined for a sick family member in his parents ‘homeland’\, Robel and his best friend Fahmi must navigate Seattle’s evolving streets while confronting themes of family responsibility\, identity\, and the dislocation caused by economic displacement. \nThe film explores the essence of home—what it means to a young boy at a time of personal transition and to a city undergoing significant redevelopment. Director Zia Mohajerjasbi captures Seattle’s beauty and reflects on the dissolution of communities\, making Know Your Place both a love letter and a lament for a hometown in flux. \n \nDirector Statement \nIt is personal as an attempt to capture the beauty of the place that raised me and those I keep company with\, in this moment of rapid transition; in which the disappearance of the familiar continues to gain momentum with increasing scope and intensity. The dissolution of community\, economic displacement\, and redevelopment of legacy neighborhoods has made part of the city to which I’d been intimately connected almost unrecognizable. This film is about capturing some sense of what Seattle is\, what it has been\, what it is becoming. It is a film about home. \nThrough an intimate narrative lens and characterization\, “Know Your Place” depicts impermanence as a relative experience. The film centers this experience through the eyes of Robel\, an Eritrean-American boy of 15 years\, at a time of transition in his own life\, within the greater transitional context of Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. The film’s key performers are almost all first-time actors or second-time collaborators with me. I am unwaveringly committed to a methodology that embraces storytelling as a universal human trait. As tools to filmmakers become more available\, the localization of cinema is vital – adding nuance\, specificity\, potency and authenticity to stories represented in film. No story is “too small”. \nIn essence\, “Know Your Place” is an exercise in this process – reflecting the possibilities of storytelling in cinema that is grounded in community\, friendship and ongoing cultural exchange.
