DESCRIPTION:Three local college will unite on Monday\, January 16 in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr Day. Festivities will conclude with a gathering at Gesa Power House Theatre. All of the day’s events are free and open to the public. \n11:00 AM: “The Color of Freedom”\nWalla Walla University Church\, 212 SW Fourth St.\, College Place \nTerrie Aamodt\, WWU professor of history and English will present her research on the history of racial policy in the Pacific Northwest. Terrance Taylor\, pastor of the Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church in Pasco\, Wash.\, will share his life story\, including his experience as a black man studying at WWU. \n4:00 PM: Peace March and Candlelight Vigil\nFrom Whitman College Reid Campus Center\, 280 Boyer Ave.\, Walla Walla to Gesa Power House Theatre\, 111 N. 6th Avenue\, Walla Walla. \nCommunity members are invited to join students from Whitman College\, Walla Walla University\, and Walla Walla Community College in a candlelit walk through downtown Walla Walla\, and a presentation at the Power House\, where students from the three colleges will present music and readings. \nAll events are free and open to the public. \n\nMLK Day speakers\, vigil planned – January 13\, 2017 Union Bulletin\nMartin Luther King Jr. Day – January 6\, 2017 WWU Website
